The bazaar is SAFER Foundation’s first major public event which aims to raise money for its Quick Response Fund (QRF), a pooled fund that ensures money is sufficient and readily in place before a disaster strikes. This allows SAFER Foundation to disburse money to its local partners efficiently and immediately right after a disaster. The result is that victims receive life-saving relief and assistance on-time during emergency situations.

Participants who dropped by SAFER's booth were able to pledge an amount for future disasters

A total of 28 small and medium enterprises joined the bazaar in support of the fundraising campaign. The merchants sold local goods varying from artisan products, food, to handicrafts.

Cherrie Ann Domingo-Dillera, owner of ‘Artsy Witchy’ said, “I joined because I have a preference towards bazaars with a greater purpose. I am thankful to be a part of the Buyanihan Summer Bazaar.”

Joy Candia of ‘The Sili Story’ added, “It’s my first time to sell anything at a bazaar. I am very happy to be a part of this fundraising movement.”

Fr. Edu Gariguez, Chairperson of SAFER Foundation also encouraged the Filipino public to foster the bayanihan spirit. He shares, “There should be local action coming from the Filipino public--to help one another, to be in solidarity, and I believe that Filipinos have this kind of spirit.”

The official media partners of the event are Green Giant FM of De La Salle University and DZUP 1602 of University of the Philippines.
