Members of the SAFER team attended the Family Conversations (FamCon) for Marawi Recovery & Rehab activity last 24th of January 2018 in Iligan City.
Family Conversations is a one-day activity which gathers at least 20 families and includes profiling, psychosocial activities, awareness raising on health rights, consultations on Marawi rehabilitation and commitment building. This allows Internally Displaced Persons or IDPs to raise their concerns in a safer, non-judgemental environment among peers.
The activity was conducted by CODE-NGO's DRRM Coordination Hub members in Region 10 and ARMM. Also present were leaders MINCODE, Agri-Aqua Development Coalition (AADC), Al Mujadillah Development Foundation (AMDF), Coalition of Bangsamoro Civil Society Organizations (CBCS), Maradeca, Balay Mindanaw Foundation (BMFI), Kalimudan Foundation, CODE-NGO and Christian Aid.
MINCODE has trained 4 batches of Family Conversations facilitators and conducted family conversations in 10 municipalities in Lanao del Sur. FamCon will continue until March 2018.
