Rappler Partners with SAFER Foundation in Delivering Disaster Information to the Public
SAFER is now an official partner of Rappler in delivering emergency information to the public in order to direct relief assistance to where it is most needed. Rappler officially signed a Memorandum of Agreement to be SAFER's media partner last August 21, 2019 during their Partner's night held at the Rappler Headquarters in Ortigas. Present in the ceremonial signing are Rappler CEO Maria Resa, Unit Head for Civic Engagement Raisa Serafica, and SAFER Communications Specialist Sheena Peña.
SAFER is a strong advocate for providing ethical insight on emergency response through transparency and accountability to public and private donors. To achieve this agenda, partnering with a credible media source becomes critical. SAFER hoped that through this initiative, other relief agencies will be moved in making funding and emergency response information more transparent.
Maria Resa also emphasized the need for truth during her opening speech at the event. "Right now, everything that we do matters. We've talked about local problems that we face that are connected to global issues. We hope to discuss with you tonight climate change and the battle for truth,” she said.
SAFER continues to look for other media partners and corporate sponsorships for its cause. Interested partners can email firstname.lastname@example.org
